So I have been working like crazy to get my nine remaining outfits for the Transmogolympics finished as early as possible.

I have read over the rules and criteria numerous times, but for some reason I didn’t  notice until today that I did the Cycling category wrong.  It was supposed to be a leather or mail biker outfit to match a chopper, and I made mine plate! 😦

Like I mentioned in my last post, I am doing almost all (or all… not sure yet) of my screenshots in-game, so I actually farmed or bought all of this gear for the plate biker set.  Not letting the outfit go to waste, so you – my loyal readers- get to see it anyways! ha ha

Here is Phillippa, my unused ret paladin, hanging out around the Blue Recluse in Stormwind City in her biker duds:

The Gear:
Helm- Tempered Titansteel Helm
Shoulder- Redsteel Shoulders
Chest- Boulderfist Armor
Gloves- Vice Grips
Belt- Deathforge Girdle
Pants- Warmaul Legplates
Feet- Warlord’s Sabatons
Weapon- Sul’thraze the Lasher

Amateur Azerothian blog is holding another WOW blogger transmogging contest!  This time it’s the Transmogolympics!

Here are some of the details he provided:

To participate in the event, you’re required to make TEN outfits.

The first outfit is for the faction you are assigned to have a flag bearer and is not judged.  The other nine outfits are medal categories, which are:

  1. Archery – Build an outfit around your favourite bow.
  2. Cycling – Build a biker outfit to compliment the Chopper.  It must be either Leather or Mail.
  3. Discus – Build an outfit around one of the shield skins seen here
  4. Equestrian – Build an outfit to compliment one of the horse mounts in the game.  (Faction limitations apply, so no Orcs on a Stormwind pony)
  5. Fencing – Time for some swordplay.  Build your best outfit around the 1h sword of your choice.
  6. Javelin – Build an outfit around the polearm of your choice.
  7. Hammer Throw – Build an outfit around your favourite two-handed hammer.
  8. Wrestling – We’re going to deviate from olympic wrestling and go to the sports entertainment aspect instead.  Using one of the “championship” belts, design your own Azerothian pro wrestler.  Think of the oversized belts, such as the Firemend Cinch seen here.
  9. Freestyle – Build your own NPC. Could be an innkeeper, could be the Green Orc Lantern.  Doesn’t matter.

Other rules are:

  • There is NO limit on the number of participants.
  • 9 competition outfits.  At least 5 different races must be used, never repeating the same gender/race combo (if you use Blood Elf Male for Javelin, you can’t make a Blood Elf Male for Discus.  You could however make it female so long as you aren’t submitting a Blood Elf Female in any other event).  Your flagbearer combo may be used in a competition event.
  • Your event entry must be able to use the outfit as a proper end-game transmog (so no Gnomes in Shaman gear or Goblin Rogues entering the discus)
  • Include the gear you used for each outfit please (the judges can peg many articles from in-game, but can’t always tell what everything is).
  • All entries are to be submitted at once.  Send the screenshots to arcanewordsmith@gmail.com
  • As per Mog Madness, MogIt and ModelViewer entries are welcome.
  • We’ll reveal three events a week for three weeks, beginning August 12th.  Medals will be handed out accordingly.
  • I have set no criteria for fellow judges (still confirming who the official judges will be).  They will simply give their rankings based on their own thoughts.  However, they’ll not know who they’re voting on (it will be labelled as Outfit D, rather than “Tome,” for example).
  • The winner will have received the most medals in the nine events.

I balked at this contest at first…I mean that is a lot of outfits to come up with.  If I were just using my main and maybe a few of my alts, I would have them easy.  But so far that gender/race rule is killing me.

Most of my toons are female, and I have a lot of humans, nightelves, and draneis.  I had to really decide which human female I wanted to use the most because it would keep the others from being in the contest.  (and believe it or not, Chatmay will not be participating in this transmog contest!)

I do not have a female gnome toon, and all of my horde toons are level 20 or lower.  I like to make my outfits and screenshots in-game as much as possible, so I am struggling to get as many different gender/races as I can.  Plus I have spent a lot on transmog gear at the current jacked-up prices.

I also have NO worgen toons, and I was assigned Gilneas of all things as my faction.  So I pretty much HAD to use WOW Model Viewer to make my flag carrier.

I decided to make my flag-carrier a male worgen rogue.  The Gilneas tabard was required.  Every piece of gear he has on uses titles/names that I thought best portrayed the worgen race.

Check it out:

Proud Representative of Gilneas

Gear used:
Helm- The Wanderer’s Cover
Shoulder- Shadowskin Spaulders
Back- Juno’s Shadow
Chest- Vest of Dark Rumors
Bracers- Madwolf Bracers
Gloves- Half Truth Handlers
Belt- Bonechewer Pelt-Girdle
Legs- Wanderer’s Leggings
Boots- Footpads of the Fang

That is all I can post for now.  The nine category outfits have to be submitted all together, and we are not allowed to post them anywhere until the contest has been judged.

So wish me luck!

So they are moving the top 20 WOW bloggers to round two of Mog Madness– and I was number twenty! WHEW!  I barely made it!

So I am having to step up my game here big time if I want to move to round three or even come close to being in the top three really.

This week’s directions were:

Now, we’re moving on to the wild.  The classes are limited to either a Hunter or a Druid and your outfit must be based on using either  Marrowstrike or Glaive of the Pit (same skin).

I usually always do my screenshots in game, and I would have tried to get the required polearm and other items just to do so.  However, we switched to AT&T Uverse this week, and our internet connection has been sketchy at best for the past few days.

So, I have resorted to downloading WOW Modelviewer and putting my outfit together using that and wowhead.com to meet this week’s deadline.  My screenshots are pretty basic this time because I am trying to learn how to use this program….

The polearm Marrowstrike had a blue and gold look, and it reminded me of some kind of knightly looking weapon.  Using my hunter Illayeria, I put together a gladiator/valorous alliance type look for her with blue and gold colors.

Hunter FTW

This outfit used:
Hateful Gladiator’s Chain Helm
Vest of the Den Watcher
Skybreaker’s Mantle
Sparkleshell Legguards
Trumphant Gauntlets
Triumphant Sabatons
Ornate Girdle
Cromush’s Cloak
(and… MARROWSTRIKE lol)

Crossbow Shot

If I could have used a ranged weapon, I would have chosen:

Grand Marshal’s Repeater

GO ALLIANCE!!! (and go me to round three!)

Giddy Up!

It’s not March Madness- it’s Mog Madness!  In other words, a new blogger contest…this time held by Amateur Azerothian, Effraeti’s RP, and Tome of The Ancient.

Here are some of the rules/guidelines:

  • Mog Madness will consist of five rounds.
  • The first round will be two weeks, with the remaining four rounds one week each.
  • There will be a “Mog build” criteria for each round that will be announced at the start of each round.
  • Each participant is allowed one entry per round.
  • Your submission can be an in-game screenshot, or a shot from a program such as MogIt.
  • The judges will look at overall thoughts, creativity, and originality to give each entry a score, and the top scores will move on each round until the finals.

The first round of Mog Madness is CLOTH, my favorite!

So here is my new priest transmog for Meridia:

Beachy Keen

It’s a very watery themed look:

Side View

I used-

Crown of Burning Waters
Shoulderpads of Absoultion
Vestments of Absolution
Duskweave Gloves
Historian’s Sash
Guiding Star
Coldarra Crystal

Healing for Mog Madness!

12 in 12, challenge, level, leveling, levels, warcraft, world of warcraft, WOW

Yesterday I found out that several of the WOW blogger community are participating in what has been called “12 in 12.”

The idea, created by the Amateur Azerothian, is to get 2012 levels in 2012!  Sounds crazy right?  Scary thing is, you can see at the bottom of his blog post that several participants are ALREADY at 70% of their goal or higher.

I am highly considering taking the challenge except for one problem.  My 85s are on three accounts, and the rules state that they must all be from ONE account.

So today I added up all my toons including all the lowbie noobs on Chatmay’s account.  And trust me, I have a ton of lowbie noobs.

Here is what I came up with:

49 toons
20 servers
1174 levels

The class breakdown is: 7 warlocks, 5 mages, 4 rogues, 5 hunters, 3 warriors, 5 paladins, three DKs (which only count as half their level), 4 druids, 3 shamans

Woot for warlocks!

The race breakdown is: 9 humans, 6 nightelves, 9 draneis, 4 gnomes, 0 goblins, 12 bloodelves, 4 tauren, 1 dwarf, 0 orcs, 2 undead, 2 trolls, 0 worgen

This is amusing because I have yet to get a bloodelf over level 20.  I tried, I really did.

So let me know if you are doing 12 for 12 and whether I should try.  I mean after all, it is 12 months of playing WOW….

When I first made my blog, I found blogazeroth.com, the blogging community for WOW bloggers.  I was able to introduce myself as a new blogger, find writing topics, and talk to other bloggers there.

So today is the 19th- the day I have been waiting for to enter the Blog Azeroth 2011 Thanksgiving Event!

Blog Azeroth Thanksgiving Event 2011

This is what participants were challenged with:

– Basically What you have to do is post a topic/letter/poem/song/story or just a simple thank you note to a fellow blogger/s meaning how you appreciate their work that maybe somehow helped you grow being a blog writer you are now. Thanking them that maybe you have learned many things from that fellow blogger, someone maybe who motivates you, gives you inspiration or pretty much any way of saying thanks to that writer/blogger. it doesn’t matter how many of them you like to Thank for. And you don’t need to be tagged by someone to start your own entry, make sure to put originality to your thoughts on how you thank a fellow blogger/s.

This is the strange idea I came up with for their consideration:

So check it out and let me know what you think!  It’s a little bizzare I admit, but I can be that way at times.
