I have decided that this has to be the best transmog I have ever done… tons of purple here, a warlock’s favorite color, plus it perfectly goes with my new guild tabard.

Chatmay’s Close-up

I decided to make this outfit and base it around my new shoulders, which I totally love.  I got them in LFR.  The tabard is from my new guild, <Dark Phoenix>.

Here are the items I used:

Darkmist Wizard Hat
Shoulderpads of Dou Dou Chong
Conqueror’s Deathbringer’s Robe
Gloves of the Thousandfold Hells
Frostwoven Belt
Sandals of the Shadow
Cape of the Black Baron (not shown in pics)
Namlak’s Supernumerary Sticker
Orb of the First Satyrs

Whew.

with weapon and OH

The dagger is the only item I am iffy about… and only because of it’s glow color.  Besides the level 90 gear, everything is pieces I have saved or collected over the past few years except the crafted belt, which I bought on the auction house.

I was wondering today about the people that design gear for WOW.  What are they thinking sometimes when they come up with these outfits?

So I googled celebrity fashion of course.  Here are some celebrities who inspired (or were inspired by, not sure) WOW cloth looks:

Nicole Kidman at People’s Choice Awards wore a backless gold top, which resembles Calico Tunic-, a top Chatmay wore in my “Get This Party Started” WOW music video:

Nicole’s backless top

Chatmay’s backless top

Kate Hudson is wearing a white dress that kind of resembles the Elegant Robes, one of my favorite robes in-game.

Kate’s summer dress

Chat’s favorite robe

Hudson’s dress is also similar in color and style to Mooncloth Robe, which I wore with a white shirt for a guild winter party.

In this photo of Taylor Swift, she is wearing an extremely low-cut gown.  You can get this cloth look in-game with several robes, although I found two of mine seemed lower-cut than the others.

Low Cut Resolution

Chatmay wore one of these lower-cut robes when she dressed up as Elvira for yet another WOW Halloween contest using Thistlefur Robe.  I can’t find that screenshot, but here is a more recent shot of that chestpiece:

Low-cut with scary helm

Another low-cut option is Cataclysmic Gladiator’s Felweave Raiment, a pretty awesome robe from level 85 PVP.  With another scary helm….

Jagged edge

Finally, I’m not sure who this celebrity is, but she is wearing an off-the-shoulder dress that to me looks like Astralaan Robe, which my mage and my paladin (as RP gear) have both worn.

Do you think these are good knock-offs?  What did I miss?

Stay tuned for more upcoming celebrity-WOW fashion posts!

Today’s Transmog Dilemma

Don’t you hate it when you can’t decide on a transmog outfit?  The outfit that starts taking over an hour to make?

I started this with a simple idea- a warlock in white and gold.  Kind of- “I’m holier than thou” look? heh 😀

Turns out, there aren’t tons of white options for warlocks.  This started taking a while and costing a little money (I need to go back to using WOW Model Viewer!?).  Which wasn’t a big deal to me; it was more a bag space problem as usual.

The outfit was based on three pieces at first – Aurora Armor, the Theramore Tabard, and Vicious Embersilk Pants.  I also had on Sandals Of The Shadow at the time, which I decided to use to give some contrast and also because they have some white in them.

The first dilemma came with the helm.

I thought the white helm- Cowl of Destiny– looked kind of neat… plus I have never used it in a transmog since it hardly matches anything.  However, my son wanted me to use the gold helm- Gaze of the Unknown.

Touch of Blue

I was ok with the gold helm until I noticed that the back is blue (and there are feathers? around the bottom, no idea).  That doesn’t go with what I was wanting, but I modified the outfit to make my son happy by adding some blue items off the AH.  The gloves- Wind-Kissed Handwraps– and a staff with blue- Splintering Greatstaff.

Back of the Gaze helm

<Just for note here, I used Nemesis Bracers because they are very small and don’t add distraction to the gloves.>

I ended up later back with the white helm, and then I couldn’t decide on a staff without blue.  So I bought an old favorite, The Bringer Of Death.  I liked it because it added a warlock look, but it was a bit too much white at this point for me.

Death By Chatmay

The second staff I tried was Spire of Sunset.  Although it matched the color scheme, I thought it was kind of gawdy for the overall look.

Set in Theramore

I also tossed back and forth different shoulders and belts.  I ended up with Ruby-Linked Girdle to go with the boots and Pandaria xpac, but I did consider the white belt, Firewool Cord of the Wildfire.

For shoulders, I started with Elegant Mantle.  I decided it was too grayish, so I went with Vicious Embersilk Shoulders instead.

What do you guys think?  Which pieces should I use with what?  Feedback needed! 😀

The title to this post sounds so dramatic, so not sure if this will be a let-down or not.

I was going to shoot some level 90 PVP shots of Chatmay for my “Farewell to WOW” video (those shots never actually made it to the video, but that will be covered in another post), so I had to transmog my gear that I had used previously of course.

I decided to make an outfit around Pontifex Kilt (leg slot).  I threw these pieces together, and at the last minute I threw in Mayor’s Hand Fan (offhand), which was a grossly huge piece I had kept from Pandaria questing for some reason.  This pic isn’t a very good shot of it, but this has to be the only outfit it ever suited.

Not too happy with this wand I used, but I didn’t have time at the moment to go digging for a different one that matched.

I’m Sad But Stylin

Also Shown Here:
Laughing Skull Cap
Contender’s Satin Amice
Aurora Armor
Wand of Ahn’kahet
Gossamer Gloves
Ruthless Gladiator’s Cord of Accuracy

I have celebrated Christmas, gotten sick, traveled out of town.  When I logged back into WOW, the first thing I thought was- God that transmog has to go.

It wasn’t a horrible transmog I guess, but Chatmay is not a sex-ninja or whatever that skimpy thing was.

So here is the slightly altered transmog- I just changed a few things:

Chatmay is Back

Hood of the Faceless Shroud
Arcanoweave Robe
Shadowsummoner Spaulders

This is more of a lock look to me.  Let me know what you think!

I leveled a priest and a hunter to 90 first for raiding.  Then I went offline for a few weeks.  In the meantime, though, my husband leveled Chatmay to 90 as my in-game Christmas present! woot!

It only made sense that after gemming and enchanting etc. I would do a heroic.  But I stopped first to transmog, the first I have done for her since MOP came out.

Here Goes:

Gold In Stormwind

The outfit is fairly simple:
Gaze of the Unknown (helm)
Four pieces of “Elegant” set
Liuyang’s Lovely Longstaff (staff)

I had been hording the pieces of elegant… since the end of Lich King!  It turned out ok, but I am not sure how long Chatmay will tolerate her butt hanging out of the back of this outfit.

Also, a guild member said she looks like a Power Ranger!

NO!!!!…..

YES!!!

I haven’t posted in a while, so I thought I would post some of the last few transmogs I have done here.  Two of these were done at the end of cataclysm- the first cloth transmogs I have done with wands as main hand.

The last one is my first Mists of Pandaria transmog…not much of one, but I thought it was a good way to start the new expansion.

TARREK, 85 Warlock

No Robes Required

Using: Kata-Mary Crown, Skein Woven Mantle, Drakeweave Raiment, Netherweave Bracers, Frostsavage Gloves, Mistyreed Belt, Shadow Council Pants, Netherweave Boots.

AEWYN, 85 Mage

Prior transmog I had posted here… I went back and changed it:

Blue World

Using: Vital Headband, Mosswrought Shoulderguards, Time Lord’s Robes, Moonshroud Gloves, Serenity Belt, and Flawless Wand.

MERIDIA, 90 Priest

I didn’t have to transmog too many things to make this look cool, but here are the pieces I used to make this look:

Asian Look for Pandaria

Using: Ambermist Hood, Ambermist Mantle, Robes of Creation, Firescribe Dagger, Wakener’s Light.

It’s not March Madness- it’s Mog Madness!  In other words, a new blogger contest…this time held by Amateur Azerothian, Effraeti’s RP, and Tome of The Ancient.

Here are some of the rules/guidelines:

  • Mog Madness will consist of five rounds.
  • The first round will be two weeks, with the remaining four rounds one week each.
  • There will be a “Mog build” criteria for each round that will be announced at the start of each round.
  • Each participant is allowed one entry per round.
  • Your submission can be an in-game screenshot, or a shot from a program such as MogIt.
  • The judges will look at overall thoughts, creativity, and originality to give each entry a score, and the top scores will move on each round until the finals.

The first round of Mog Madness is CLOTH, my favorite!

So here is my new priest transmog for Meridia:

Beachy Keen

It’s a very watery themed look:

Side View

I used-

Crown of Burning Waters
Shoulderpads of Absoultion
Vestments of Absolution
Duskweave Gloves
Historian’s Sash
Guiding Star
Coldarra Crystal

Healing for Mog Madness!

Pick me baby
