Well, you’ve seen my silly entry for the Holiday category… what else happened at <The East Kingdom> Fashion Show- 2?

Mirahna was back to win, and she did win three categories including best color theme.  This outfit was in red, plus she performed with all her mounts, pets, and companions:

Red Theme

For best NPC in the Game Costume, we had Margause dress up as Ysera.  It was an awesome costume, and she rode away on the new dragon mount:

Ysera Outfit

We also had some guys participating in the show.  Picorian won best Faction Representation category as “Alliance.”  He had a blue helm on with it, but he has it hidden in this picture:

Alliance Paladin

I won’t post a picture of the outfit, but besides Holiday category I also won Profession Category  by dressing up as Inspector Chatmay. goblin engineer.  My performance included: using Mithril Mechanial Dragonling, Goblin Construction Helmet’s field, High-Powered Flashlight, Goblin Rocket Boots, a frost grenade, and my belt’s invisibility field.

I was edged out of one of the final categories, Best Showmanship, by Mildread.  Based on several cute costumes and funny dwarf performances, she carried home the prize.  This is her as a Pygmy Overlord:

If you are interested in hosting a fashion show yourself, here is the video I made of the categories we used for this one:

Thanks to everyone who participated!

OK so Halloween is long over.  But I had some Halloween-ish fun with a category for last night’s guild fashion show.

The holiday category required that you wear at least two pieces or more of holiday attire.  I didn’t want anyone to have the same costume as me, plus I was coming up with silly ideas…so I paired my Hallowed Helm with my Lovely Red Dress to make ~ HEADLESS CHATMAY!

I then googled “Headless Horseman story,” where I found the original text to “Rip Van Winkle & The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving.  I skipped down a few paragraphs and used some of that text to rewrite the story.  This is what I came up with and told in a spooky voice on vent:

The dominant spirit of Stormwind Hollow and seeming to be the commander-in-chief of all its powers is – Headless Chatmay.

She is said by some to have been going on a hot date when an orc spy killed her and carried her head off as a cannon-ball…

(I threw pumpkin heads at four audience members)

Her haunts are not confined to the hollow but extend at times to the roads and even Northshire!

She apparently was buried there and rushes through the night in a hurry to get back to her grave.

(I summoned pumpkin soldiers and rode off on my warlock mount)

Here is a picture I made of Headless Chatmay.  I kind of cheated by making it in Gilneas, but it was daytime and I wanted a night-time or spooky look to it:

Custom WOW Coasters

__________________________________________________________________

__________________________________________________________________

I will also be rolling a random number in WOW for a reader comment prize, which will be a rare WOW Loot Card called Grim Campfire!  (value $15-20) Yes, you can win too!

SO… the blogger nominees are:
1) KIRINA’S CLOSET

Swamp Thang

Kirina Used:
Big Voodoo Mask
Ymirjar’s Physician’s Robe
Mantle of Autumn
Overcast Boots, Gloves, and Belt

Kirina says: The Physician’s Robe immediately made me think of a female “creature from the Black Lagoon”, and so I focused on a outfit primarily green and brown to go along with that “swampy” theme. I found that the Mantle of Autumn really accents the colors in the robe – while they aren’t green like the druid-only Cenarion Spaulders, the golden leaves of the Autumn mantle bring out the darker brown/tan colors in the robe. The Big Voodoo Mask  was added just to be “scarier”…and, it was really the only leather helm I could find that was obtainable for Kirina while still matching the spirit of the outfit.

2. KAMALIA ET ALIA

Newsies Look

Kamalia used:
Hood of Lost Solitude
Murkblood Shoulderguards
Raptor-Hide Harness
Rigid Belt
Expedition Pants
Runic Leather Gauntlets
Mosshide Boots
Tuxedo Shirt

Kamalia Says: I’d been intending to put together an outfit based around the Hood of Lost Solitude, a leather quest reward item from Twilight Highlands that reminds me of a military-style cap, for some time now. In contemplating what sorts of outfits I might make, it occurred to me that this hat might make a good newsboy cap.

Also: Like the Dress Shoes, these boots disappear on races that don’t wear shoes and look like plain black shoes on races with human-like feet.
I also considered using the Runic Leather Vest/Cow King’s Hide as an alternate chestpiece.

3. Effraeti’s RP

Shammy Power

Effi Used:
Crown of Destruction
Merciless Gladiator’s Ringmail Spaulders
Brutal Gladiator’s Ringmail Armor
Brutal Gladiator’s Ringmail Gauntlets
Guardian’s Ringmail Girdle
Feltooth Eviscerator
Triptych Shield of the Ancients

Effraeti says:  Somewhat inspired by the Firelands (T12), but mainly built around the Cataclysm (T5) set shoulders (which I bought the PvP replica of).  Shamans are elemental based, and I thought the look of fire was most impressive (and I love that helm).  My preference would be the Earthshatter (T3) set, but alas, I did not play in Vanilla.

TO COMMENT: Please only vote for ONE contestant… comment with two numbers- one number between 1-10 for the overall look and another number between 1-10 for the screenshot.  (10 being the highest)

Example Comment: I like Kirina the best because…xyz.  I give her a score of 8/7.

DEADLINE TO COMMENT ON THIS POST FOR ENTRY: DECEMBER 15, 2011!

JUDGING, ROLL, AND PRIZE NOTIFICATION WILL TAKE PLACE BY: DECEMBER 20, 2011… winners will be announced on this blog as well.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW
MUST BE 18+ TO COMMENT/ENTER
IF ANY PRIZE IS UNCLAIMED, THERE WILL NOT BE A 2nd DRAWING

It was Halloween last year, my guild was having a huge pre-Halloween costume party.  I wanted to do something original and cool, when suddenly Bad Romance comes on the radio.  IDEA- Why not have a Lady Gaga costume?!

So I hunted for inspiration…how could I make this into a cool WOW costume?

So I first searched the internet of course… leading me to several articles online about how to dress up like Gaga for Halloween.  They all mentioned skimpy or no pants, tight-fitting or short bodice, and stylish shoes and accessories.

Then I watched the Pokerface video, Lady Gaga’s first big hit song.  There were lots of costumes in it, but two were prominent: the blue Poker Face Suit bathing suit outfit and the Black Crystal Catsuit.  I knew I wouldn’t be able to do the Poker Face Suit in WOW, but I thought I might be able to combine the overall look of the two in game.

Also, Gaga is known for her crazy hats if not the sunglasses.  It occurred to me that I have some pretty crazy druid helms as well.  I also turned my druid’s hair white.  So the title was born: Druid Gaga.

I went with some of the classic Black Mageweave set as well as the vest I chose to show even more skin that the mageweave chest piece.  This was the end result:

Druid Gaga!

Ellenoria, balance druid, is wearing:

Antlers of Malorne helm,

Purehorn Spaulders,

Barbaric Cloth Vest,

Black Mageweave Leggings,

and Recruit’s Boots (you can also use the Black Mageweave Boots- same thing).

I decided for the antlers over the moose horns, even Gaga doesn’t go too over the top (well most of the time).  I also used a pair of black bracers as an alternative to short black gloves, which I did not have.

Shaking it like only a Gaga can

Druid Gaga has appeared at two guild parties.  I usually hide her behind a tree and jump out somewhere during mid-party as a surprise or better late than never appearance.  At one party my guildies were even chanting- Dru-id Ga-Ga over and over…hilarious.

Now that we have so many new guild members, many of them have not seen our “mascot,” but she is due for another appearance in April.

WOW RP Outfits for Spring

For spring, there are lots of outfits available in the pastel or flower-color schemes! Perfect for spring events or trolling around with your RP friends by the new gazebo in Stormwind City.

ROBES

My main, Chatmay, almost always wears robes. I also have some RP dresses on my alt, Ellenoria. While spring colors are not really my favorite for Chat, I do have some outfits that meet this category (of course). Here are a few:

Hollywood Glam

Chatmay Goes Glam

I thought I would start with one of the easier items that I have obtained, the Elegant Dress.  This is the dress that you can obtain through the Noblegarden holiday event around Easter time.

To be honest, I haven’t used this dress much due to my dislike of the color pink.  However, I found that when paired with my epic Lightweight Bio-Optic Killshades and the trendy Shadowy Laced Handwraps…. I looked kind of stylin.

I am sure this could be debatable.

Festive Spring!

Festive Spring

Another pink dress… yay….?!  This one is another holiday gimme- the Festive Pink Dress

from Lunar Festival held in January-February each year. I paired my dress with the helm, Gossamer Headpiece of the Whale, which is the white version of the Scarlet Monastery Cathedral helm.

I also threw in Officer’s Formal Baton, which is a Cata quest reward item.

I was going for regal with a big stick I suppose.

Insight… (To Financial Demise)

Some people spend too much money on RP gear.  I am one of those people.  For example, let’s say you (or me) have failed to get the AQ20 hot pink robe since vanilla days of 2004. AND let’s say you (or me) have drooled over the similar dress Robes of Insight on the auction house since then as well.

So why not just buy the AH version you may ask?  Because even though they are a level 40 item…they still sell for between 500-1000g on most servers!

Like I said, I do spend a lot on RP gear, but that used to be a lot of gold.  I finally brought myself to fork it over at Christmas 2010 for a guild party.  So here is a picture of me in just the robes with Slime-encrusted Pads, a blue from WC, also equipped….(anyone else find that odd…beautiful dress….slime…. equals ?)

Anyways, this dress does make a nice spring outfit, and it’s about as formal as you can get in game.  I wish I had paired it with my bouquet of red flowers from the Valentine’s event.  That would have been sweet!

Robes of Insight on Chatmay

Other Easy Robes to Get

See Ellenoria pose, see Ellenoria preen.  Yes, Ellenoria is my boomkin, and here she is wearing her finest.       I don’t have a bank full of helms for her like I do Chatmay, so this is pretty simple:

  • The purple dress is the Lovely Purple Dress from the Love is in the Air

    Lovely Purple Dress on Ellenoria

holiday event.  They have made this event super easy now, so you can get a       dress with your love tokens.  The color is random and comes in black, blue, purple, and red. (Chatmay has the red.)

  • The blue and brown dress on Ellenoria that I have is called specifically Sage’s Robe

    The Sage's Robe

of Arcane Wrath.  Someone gave me this as a gift a long time ago, but apparently it is a green drop that comes in level 30-40 zones.  I picked this as a spring dress because of the blue and the slits up the leg.

  • And the easiest dress to get of all is…. White Woolen Dress. Not only does this look simple yet beautiful on most females, it is a level ONE dress.  So anyone can wear it (including men if you really wanted to- hey, I have seen it done!).  It is a crafted tailoring pattern that only takes 3 bolts of wool to make. Would go well with Red Rose offhand.

    The lamb in spring....

Manly Men

Pants and Shirt

It’s always more challenging to come up with some outfits for the guys, but believe it or not… there are spring shirts!  May I first please nominate- Lavender Mageweave Shirt!  Here it is on my rogue paired with his regular gear brown hat and some cloth brown boots.  Also paired with Tuxedo Pants, which go well with anything.

Manly Look for Spring

There is also Pink Mageweave Shirt for the brave-hearted man!  Hey, cause everyone wants the Miami Vice look again.

These shirts and the pants are all tailoring patterns that not every tailor these days has, but they are out there.  Better to have them crafted if you are on an RP server than buying them on the auction house, or you will pay far too much.

***I will be posting more RP outfits in the future.  Please leave comments about this post- I had a lot of trouble making it since I am new to wordpress…. but also leave me feedback about what kinds of outfits YOU would have listed as spring RP wear.  Thanks for reading!
