Over the year I have been a part of too many WOW forums groups to count.  Member of some, admin to many.  Here are signatures I have used over the years. In a way, these tell about my history in WOW.

Looking through all of these, you can tell there is a major difference between using  paint, etc. and doing one/having one made in photoshop.  It also looks like photoshop has improved over the years, but I wouldn’t know.

Our guild used a facebook group instead of a guild website forums starting with Cataclysm. I also had the banner to this blog site made by the same person that did most of these signatures.

for Avatars of East Kingdom

Ellenoria was in different guilds than Chatmay still

Magdakine moved to a guild on Terokkar

wordage change, Chatmay back from the shelf

had this one made at the last minute by my dad, who knows nothing about WOW… was for a swap faction event

I didn’t really like this one that much

From a sig generator, I combined them into one sig

had this one made to replace the one I didn’t like

had this one made as well for important WOW Moms posts

End of Summer Guild Party

My guild on Terokkar, The East Kingdom, had an end-of-summer party a few weeks ago.  Sorry I am just now getting around to writing about it….

The party location was the beach at Bittertide Lake, which is West of Glimmering Pillar in Sholazar Basin.

Start of the party

After the usual booze hand-outs, we started the party with a Heavy Leather Ball Contest.  Everyone was given a heavy leather ball.  The objective was to throw balls like crazy, and the person with the fewest balls left in their bags would be the winner.

This is the first time I have attempted to do this game at a party, and it didn’t really work out like I thought it would.  I don’t know if people were playing without the required number of open bag spaces (eight) or someone was afk, but we ended up having seven winners from a tie.  This is fine if you can afford that many prizes (I gave them Winterspring Cubs), but just be aware.

We then voted on best dressed for the party, which was a prize of 500g.

After that, we did another new contest: Skinny-Dipping Diver Dueling.  The rules: Standing on the slope between shallow and deep water two toons will duel under water with no gear on.  Each player starts with eight points.  If any part of the player’s body moves above water during the duel, they lose one point.  The winner of the duel receives two points.  So the highest possible score overall is ten points.

The trick to this contest was making sure people were staying on the divider between the shallow and deep parts of the lake.  If they are not following that rule, it really isn’t as challenging.  We did have one winner with ten points, and he received the Mini Mount WOW loot card.

The last contest was a number-guessing-game based on the trap door located in the lake area.  The trap door has coordinates you can see when you scroll over it.  I have been told they are some kind of Lost reference, but I have no idea.  In order to hold this contest, you need to make sure the party takes place far enough from the trap-door that players will not be able to look at it.

This is a picture of it:

Coordinates for Contest

Everyone participating had to guess a number six times- one time for each trap-door number.  The first and second numbers were between 1-10, the third and fourth numbers were between 1-20, the fifth number was between 1-25, and the sixth number was between 1-50.  Another option for the answers could be for the judge to pick their own coordinates (if you think anyone has looked before-hand to see what the answers are).  The 500g prize went to the player with the most amount of winning guesses (closest number to the answer wins each time).

After all of this, the party moved to Vashj’ir to do the whale shark kill for the achievement.  We did this at last year’s party, but we decided to do it again for newer guildies who didn’t have it.

Transmogging the Impossible- WOW Cloth Tunics

There are not a ton of cloth tunics floating around in game.  Since most everything that was given to us since BC has been robes, we have had the same choices since classic WOW as far as they go.

I picked three classic WOW tunics and tried to dress them up by mixing them with other sets.  These would be great for players looking for a more casual look or male casters looking for something besides skirts.

Dressing up the plain

My first set I took one of the plainest tunics, AURORA ARMOR, and I paired it with a fancy helm, Crown of Enfeebled Bodies.  I also used Godfrey’s Britches, Greatsword of Horrid Dreams, and Cape of the Black Baron.  You could also dress this up more with some shoulders or a nice belt.

In the Boneyard

For this outfit, I put a weird helm I have never even worn before, Collar of Bones, with RUNECLOTH TUNIC.  I also used bloodthirsty bracers, Emberfire Gloves, Curse-Tainted Leggings, Desert Walker Sandals, and the wand Bonecreeper Stylus.  There are skull offhands floating around as well.

Hinterlands Shot

For the last outfit, I used IMPERIAL RED TUNIC.  I paired it with Aurora Cowl, Shadowy Laced Handwraps, Dragonwing Leggings, and Thoriumweave Cloak.

I hope to do more tunic posts for other armor types in the future, but hope this helps all you cloth wearers!

I am working on my first WOW music video to P!nk’s “Let’s Get The Party Started.”  It is basically a reenactment of the original video in WOW that will star me, my sidekick Etokoy, and all of my guildies in a dance party scene.

Cutout Crazy- Front

This is one of the many outfits I have put together of “street clothes” for the video.  It’s my favorite because of the back and the shade of purple:

Cutout Crazy- back

Cutout Crazy- back

The outfit is:

Head- Incanter’s Cowl
Chest- Calico Tunic
Legs- Stonecloth Britches
Boots- any black ones will do, these are my regular armor boots- Desert Walker Sandals

Let me know what you think!

Trying To Start A 2nd Raid Team….

I haven’t been updating this lately, but I will give you a heads up on something that I HAVE been spending a lot of time doing in-game… trying to start a second raid team.

We have a progression/main raid team in our guild that has been raiding since Cata came out.  They are pretty successful.  But now we have a ton of 85s who also want to raid.  Easy, right?  NOOOO! lol

For several months, myself and another officer have been trying to put together a 2nd team.  Our goals are for them to get along well, and for it to be a bit more casual than the main team.   However, we still want another goal-oriented, organized group that will be doing something every week.

I have never worked on or tried to put together a secondary team of any kind in WOW.  I was told it would be hard, but I never really expected as many set-backs as we have had.

So far these are some of the things that have happened:  have lost tanks, have worked on gear for weeks only for all those people to not show up, have had entire first batch of prospects go on break or disappear from guild, had people run with us that didn’t jive with group, have lost healers.

The raid team did reform last week and had a lot of fun together, so we are trying again this weekend with the same people.  I am hoping we are finally at a good working point to start some progress.

Our guild already has the pheonix mount, etc., but we feel that lots of our members should be given raiding experience and a chance at downing bosses for personal achievements.

Feel free to comment if you have experience forming a second raid team with your advice!

More game updates: I will be doing more fun events soon, so the blog will continue (just in case anyone is worried).  I am also working on a WOW music video.

Shameless Guild Recruitment Ad for Healers

My guild The East Kingdom is recruiting FOUR healers for two raid teams.

We are a casual-social guild on Terokkar (alliance).  We use WOW-Heroes as a raid requirement… score of 4800 is required for Firelands raiding- So far we have Shannox down there on our main progression team, which needs on healer.  This team was 12/12 of previous content.

We also have a new raid team that is more casual.  We will most likely be starting with older cata raids.  We need 2-3 healers.  We prefer 4000 WOW-Heroes score for that team.

Team one is 3 nights a week, 8-11p central time.  Team two will be one or two nights a week, times TBA.

We also run older pre-cata raids for fun and achievements.

Please contact me here or in-game with your info.-

Summer Guild Party

Someone asked me last night- so why a guild party?  I explained that we have them every 3-4 months for fun and left it at that.  But again, a guild party is a good way to take a break from grinding as well as meet guildies you might not know so well.

So last night,  I hosted the “Guild Beach Par-tay” at a beach location just South of Caverns of Time in Tanaris.  I picked this location because of the events we did during the party as well as the scenic quality.  We mass summoned around 15 guildies to the beach.

I had asked people to come wearing a summer costume for a chance at a prize.  There were fire festival dresses, shorts, and bathing suits.  Many had on sunglasses, goggles, and spectracles.  I ended up not being able to pick a costume winner, so I gave away the Authentic Jr. Engineer Goggles to the winner of a roll.  Probably would have been a better idea to have an actual out-of-guild judge there for that part of the party.

I had announced also a “mystery prize” that had to be figured out.  For example- whoever does “X” at the party first wins the prize.  Since the activity was skinny-dipping first, I did give a hint when someone stripped that they were warmer.  He ended up winning that prize, which was 50g.

We also had held a sunset-themed screenshot contest on our facebook page, so that winner was picked by an inactive guildie and announced at the party.  The guildie received 300g as the prize.

Cat in the Sun

There was the usual guild performance by Lady Gaga.  Although her outfit was stunning (cindercloth set plus sandals and spectracles)  if I do say so myself, I think she might need to come up with some new material.  She did unveil the official pony keg though.

Gaga performance

I also handed out crafted heavy leather balls to each guildie, but during the party I forgot to have this contest.  It was supposed to be a throwing frenzy for 30secs.  I was going to give the companion pet prize of Lil’ Smoky to the guildie who received the most balls in bag, but this contest could be done in many different ways.

The major draw to the beach portion of the party was the Lemmings 310 contest.  We had all guildies fly up to a cliff, jump off and die.  The winner was the guildie who landed the farthest away.  He actually passed the prize, which was 310 riding money, to the second place person though.  This was a lot of fun, but thank goodness for mass ressurection!

Party Body Pile

We then traveled to another water area- Vashj’ir zone- to kill the whale shark!  This skull NPC must be kited while everyone kills him.  Best to run if you get aggro, and we did have some deaths.  Everyone got the achievement for it though, which is shown in the screenshot here:

After Achievement

Everyone who attended the party was sent savory deviate delights by mail as a parting gift.  Overall lots of fun!

EDIT: Mtdewme made a guild movie- the 2nd part covers this party.  If you want to see it go here.

Meet Our WOW Family

Everyone that knows me on Terokkar knows that my husband also plays.  My main is Chatmay, destruction lock.  His is Nôxåmon, protection paladin.

Just because we are married doesn’t mean we always play together… some days we go our separate ways.  I will PVP while he does his heroic runs, whatever.  But we always sit at a two-seater desk with two computers hooked to four monitors.

OK what?  Why so many monitors?

Well, like many who play World of Warcraft, we have more than one account.  And not two accounts either… we have THREE accounts, all full on characters for our main server.  (and mine is full for all servers, that’s another story)

Some people still consider us hardcore players even though we are not on as many hours as some.  This is probably because we made at one point 30 toons- 3 of each class, one each spec- to level.  Dual-spec later came out, but my husband refused to delete any toons we had leveled.

I’m not talking about piddly lowbies here either folks.  With the exception of two characters in the works because I deleted the original toons to make new ones…. (I advise not to ever do this), we have 28 toons over the level of 40.  This includes eight level 85s that we are currently gearing so we have options.  It’s all in the options people! ha ha ha

I have to admit since we triple-box some of these toons, I don’t full know what I am doing when I play the fire mage or the shadow priest.  I have hardly played them in instances or raids.  And Lord help me, I will not even touch the rogues or the warriors- that is scary stuff to me.

So once raiding and patches slow down, our eventual goal will be to max all these toons out.  I mean, hey… we already have every profession maxed multiple times so don’t be doubters here.  Not to brag, but giving an example: I can already make three truegolds per day (soon to be five) and 75 volatiles a day.  Because of this, I often say we would be the richest players on the server if we actually farmed and worked at these things.

So to celebrate our long-term WOW history/romance, I paid someone on WOW Moms to make this picture of all our toons decked out in tier gear last year:

Not the actual guild, just our toons that started it

She used WOW Model Viewer and let me pick what they would wear, whether they would have helms showing, and where they would be standing.  I also had the hunter’s favorite pets thrown into the shot.  I think it turned out awesome.

I was originally going to have this picture framed and hung into the house, but I couldn’t get the format right for the printer.  So I had it made into a mousepad and the cover of a mini-book of WOW screenshots of our toons.

How cool is that for wedding anniversary gift?
