As some of you may remember, I entered 10 outfits in the Transmogolympics contest last month.  First post here.

So far I am not doing so well.

The first category judged was cycling, which was creating a biker outfit to match the chopper mount.  This was one of my least favorite outfits I put together because I had to use a dwarf male hunter (and he is ugly), so I did not medal.  This is what I submitted:

Biker Dude

For anyone interested, the mail outfit is: Netherstorm Helm, Marshcreeper Mantle, War Torn Tunic, Grubbis Paws, Nightshock Girdle, Wrathfin Legguards, and Tsunami Boots.

The second category was hammer throw (2h mace shot).  I really thought I would do better in this one, but my paladin only scored a 344 from the judges (I think gold was 386?).  Was pretty disappointed, although I did originally have some concerns about the different shades of blue in the outfit.  Here she is:

In The Name of the Hammer!

Plate outfit is: Symbolic Crown, Pauldrons of Unholy Rituals, Adamantite Breastplate, Truesilver Gauntlets, Belt of the Sanctuary, Talonguard Legplates, Icebane Treads, and Sorrow’s End.

I am hoping as the contest moves along, they will get to my better outfits so I can win a medal and show them off here. 😀

My guild is getting ready for a fun fashion show event.  We had one for giggles last year, and it was a huge success… so here we go again.

I didn’t win last year, so I have decided to up the stakes for myself and actually come up with some new outfits.  To start this process, I decided I needed to write down all the WOW gear pieces I have accumulated over the past several years.

I started keeping gear around level 70 when I started to role-play (RP).  I have always had problems with bag space, but since then it has REALLY been a problem.  I have often had to part with an outfit to make room for new ones.  I don’t RP anymore, but everyone on my server knows I like to keep up my appearances.

I didn’t really realize what a mess I had until I started writing it down.  Chatmay has a total of FORTY-NINE chest pieces and THIRTY-THREE helms not to mention all the other slots.  Including weapons, offhands, and wands, Chat has a total of 189 gear pieces.  (this does not include tabards, which I do not collect)

Here is a screenshot of my bank and bags.  As you can see, I only have a few spaces left open in my bags as usual.  I have about 2 columns full of void storage as well.  Note I did not show two bags, which are my engineering and mining bags.    (considering dumping the mining stuff for more gear!)

Chatmay's Closet

Many people have suggested that I get an addon for keeping up with gear, which I think might be highly likely for me soon.  Anyways, wish me luck for the fashion show, and if you have any outfit ideas let me know!

From December 1-15, The WOW Debutante held a Transmog Fashion Design Contest between three WOW bloggers.

The three contestants were:

1) Kirina’s Closet, where you can find pictures of RP outfits and a forums group for asking questions (link not working today for some reason).  My score for Kirina was 9/10.

2) Kamalia Et Alia– shaman and alts blog.  My score was 8/7.

3) Effraeti’s RP– an RP blog with different fun articles about WOW.  My score was 8/9.

The winner was chosen by my vote and the reader vote, and the winner was… KIRINA

Swamp Thang

Kirina will win custom made WOW Coasters from DaintyCreations (on etsy).

Also, I did a random roll in game between 1-15 for the comments prize, the Grim Campfire lootcard.

Winner

And the winner was…PEPPRICA

I will be in contact with the two winners today.  Thanks to everyone who participated!

I only have a few 85s I am gearing for raiding right now. But yesterday I decided to go ahead and transmog a few toons I am not playing that much just for fun.

I love mixing and matching gear.  Complete sets are so yesterday!  So check out some of the pairings I have made:

CHATMAY, 85 Warlock

Looking Bad*&$

This is the same outfit I posted a month or two ago except I had to add a staff to the outfit instead of the dagger and offhand.

Ellenoria, 85 Druid

Blue Christmas

Heroes Dreamwalker shoulders and gloves with some other items.

Magdakine, 85 Shaman

Eyepatch Intrigue

I almost went set with this one, mixing three pieces of Wrathfin with various other gear and accessories.

Meridia, 85 Priest

Priest Power

Used two pieces of the Incarnate set with other pieces including the Metanoia staff.

Abyssinia, 85 DK

Deathly Sexiness

My husband thinks that it is bizarre making a deathknight look sexy, but I wanted to give her a change of pace.  Completely mix and matched.

Phillippa, 85 Paladin

Golden Child

This outfit was difficult to match without farming gold gear, but I finally did it!  I was a little angry that I had to buy a gold mace because the game will not let you transmog a gold 2h axe over a 2h mace, which is what I am currently using.

Transmogging the Impossible- WOW Cloth Tunics

There are not a ton of cloth tunics floating around in game.  Since most everything that was given to us since BC has been robes, we have had the same choices since classic WOW as far as they go.

I picked three classic WOW tunics and tried to dress them up by mixing them with other sets.  These would be great for players looking for a more casual look or male casters looking for something besides skirts.

Dressing up the plain

My first set I took one of the plainest tunics, AURORA ARMOR, and I paired it with a fancy helm, Crown of Enfeebled Bodies.  I also used Godfrey’s Britches, Greatsword of Horrid Dreams, and Cape of the Black Baron.  You could also dress this up more with some shoulders or a nice belt.

In the Boneyard

For this outfit, I put a weird helm I have never even worn before, Collar of Bones, with RUNECLOTH TUNIC.  I also used bloodthirsty bracers, Emberfire Gloves, Curse-Tainted Leggings, Desert Walker Sandals, and the wand Bonecreeper Stylus.  There are skull offhands floating around as well.

Hinterlands Shot

For the last outfit, I used IMPERIAL RED TUNIC.  I paired it with Aurora Cowl, Shadowy Laced Handwraps, Dragonwing Leggings, and Thoriumweave Cloak.

I hope to do more tunic posts for other armor types in the future, but hope this helps all you cloth wearers!

It only made sense that with guildies that love collecting outfits and transmogrification coming up- we should have a guild fashion show! We started promoting the fashion show early.

Here is a video I made to promote it on our guild site and explain the rules and categories.  We also talked it up in guild chat. We had seven categories for guildies to be fashionably creative with and one category for newbies to fashion:

  1. Elemental Showdown: Put together one outfit describing an element: fire, air, water, life or earth.
  2. Profession: Dress up as any in-game profession or RL profession.
  3. The Shirt: An outfit that uses a WOW shirt crafted or quest.
  4. Seasonal: Outfit that describes a season (summer, spring, winter, fall). Only one holiday item can be used.
  5. Accessory This!: Best use of a weapon, offhand, wand, companion pet, mount, or hunter pet with an outfit.
  6. I’m really horde: Dress up as a villian.
  7. Your Class Through the years: One piece of armor from each expansion that shows you are a “insert class name here” (level 60, 70, 80, 85).
  8. Fashion, Huh? : For those that are new to dressing up.
We had around seven guildies participating in the show and about that many or more in the audience.  Audience members were given Origami Beetles and fireworks to use when they really liked an outfit.

Start of the Show

Waiting Our Turn

I asked three judges from outside the guild to attend, and they judged each category taking into consideration creativing and who the audience cheered for the most.  Prizes worth around 100g were given for each category.

Taraloria won 2 categories

Guild Fisherwoman

A Fashion, Huh Winner

We then had a Best Overall, which was voted on by everyone present.  Mirhana was voted Best Overall, and she received the money for 310 riding.
Here are pictures of the categories Mirahna won:

Elemental Fire

Most of you know that in the upcoming patch 4.3 Blizz is going to allow us to dress up our current gear with whatever old gear (with stats) we have in our bank.

I have always been a collector of old gear, and now it is going to pay off!

This is my first outfit I have come up with for Chatmay using 3 pieces of Tier 6.  If you like it please comment and let me know!

How To Accessorize in WOW…With Weapons!

gamer, gear, MMO, roleplay, RP, weapon, world of warcraft, WOW

In addition to coming up with a cool RP/casual outfit for World of Warcraft, I often like to throw on some accessories in addition to the gear. These have often included weapons. Hey, no one ever said you can’t pair a pretty dress with a gargantuan sword or mace (etc.)!

I bascially try to match weapons to outfits either by color or type of mood/attitude you want to present.  You can make the outfit first then pick a weapon or vice versa, it’s up to you!

Be aware that most cool looking weapons are from dungeons or raids, and you should ASK before you roll on something for purely RP reasons unless you are with friends who know you want it.  I will say though, that there are some cool greens out there too if you use the model viewer while shopping the auction house.

Here are some of my toons I have done this with before and the weapons I have used:

Chatmay- warlock.

Chatmay with Sulfur Stave

I love wielding swords on Chatmay, but I have also kept a few other pieces.  I find that the Lich King Naxx raid staff – Sulfur Stave – looks very lockish.  It comes complete with flapping bat wings. Here I paired it with Digested Silken Robes, also from Naxx, as well as Battered Jungle Hat.

I also used this weapon at Halloween when Chatmay dressed up as Elvira.

Meridia- holy priest.

Meridia with Snake staff

Meridia with Snake mace

Meridia is a toon I rarely dress up or play around on…she’s all srs bzness.  But when she does, I have two weapons from the original Zul Gurub classic raid.  Pictured first is the Will of Arlokk staff paired with the pretty Hibernal Robe. Pictured second is the Zulian Scepter of Rites mace. They both look awesome, and nothing screams “mess with me and die” more than a snake accessory.  While these weapons are no longer available, there are possibly other snake weapons in game as well as hopefully upcoming ones with the new patch return of ZG five man.

The Thinking Woman's Weapon

For Meridia’s more meditative moments, I paired Elegant Robes… with Shadow Council Cowl of Intellect and Staff of Metanoia from Scholomance .

Magdakine- shaman.

Magdakine with a Cata green staff

This staff is a newer Cata piece that almost every caster had, but it is hilarious.  The Metusoid Staff from the Vash area looks like a tentacle, and all four of them wiggle every so often.  Very unusual, and I am looking forward to building either an aqua-heroine or diver type outfit around this piece one day.

Phillippa- paladin.

Last but not least, “Phil” is my rarely used lately retribution paladin.  There is something about a pally that makes you want to collect weapons.  I have several in her personal bank going back to level 45ish.   Here are some screenshots of a few of her best outfit/weapon combinations:

I picked these pants for the survivability...really!

Check out the pants on this looker!  Phillippa’s fave color is red, so most of these pieces have a red or red/black color.  Simple Blouse of the Owl is paired with Warmaul Legplates of the Beast, Vice Grips of the Monkey which has been changed to just Vice Grips from ZF, the Hatebringer weapon, and some current 85 gear.  Everything is plate except the leather eyepatch Eye of Rend from Blackrock Spire.

With another weapon

I also tried pairing this outfit with Hellreaver from Hellfire Ramparts, but I really like it best with Hatebringer for whatever reason.

Classy Girl Around Town

For an around town outfit, I paired the Festival Dress,  which I have mentioned before as easy to get, with Crimson Felt Hat from lower level Stratholme and Sul’thraze the Lasher, which is still a created weapon from Zul Farak (and which is NOT easy to get lol).

You can’t see it in this picture, but this weapon has black dots swirling around the end of it.

I plan to write some more accessorizing how to’s in the future, but I hope you enjoyed this one!
