Here are some ideas for some low level fun in your guild with existing or remade characters!
Level 1 Gnome Race
This is an event I used to host a lot, but now it is hard to do it since Blizzard made it where level 1s cannot be put into a raid group. Gee thanks Blizz!
Everyone would roll a gnome at a certain time… no one is allowed to leave the starting area for any reason because it levels you.
The goal is to get from the gnome starting area to Stormwind City WITHOUT going through Ironforge. So the route is: Starting Area> Dun Murough> Loch Modan> Badlands> Searing Gorge> Burning Steppes> Redridge> Elwynn> SW. No gear can be mailed to the level 1 either.
Badlands is the hardest part of the contest because of the constant deaths. While this can be humerous, it does get old. For this reason we started having a veteran player come along with the Searing Gorge key so that Badlands can be bypassed.
You will need at least two or three high level judges to keep up with everyone in the contest. If one or two stray from the path, a judge will follow them to make sure they are not skipping zones. However, it is possible to win this contest by taking hill shortcuts instead of sticking to the road.
Prizes are given to the winner and maybe second and third place. Also, we used to award funniest gnome name and most deaths.
You can still plan this event, but you will have to figure out how to keep up with all the gnomes since no raid group is possible. I have heard rumor there is an addon that will do this, but I, alas, do not know the name of it.
Change Faction Event
This is an event that I did several years ago with members of a WOW forum group (Moms who play WOW) on Cafemom.com.
We had all alliance ladies roll a level 1 horde on a server we chose. All horde ladies rolled a level 1 alliance on the same server. Both sides had a mommy titled guild with a pastel tabard.
The goal was for everyone to get to level 15 I think it was on their toon. This included a dungeon run in deadmines day for both sides.
At level 15, we all met outside Undercity for a cross-faction dueling contest. (Would probably recommend a neutral area for this though because we had some players accidentally kill the one they were dueling since it was a hostile area.)
Changing factions gives you a chance to learn more about the world of WOW and meet new WOW friends! It is also an ongoing event that can take a few days or a few weeks. Whether you choose to pursue the guilds past level 15 is up to you.
This event several years back was a friend of mine’s idea. We all rolled level one humans, leveled to 5, and ran to Goldshire to our “secret location”, which was the basement of the inn.
The idea of this event is that you fist fight without the help of any gear (so naked). Things have changed a lot with fist fighting in WOW since we had this event, so I am guessing everyone would be more on equal grounds now. Just a matter of dueling skill.
We had a seperate guild called Fight Club for the event, and we followed the rules of the fight club from the movie, which are:
Rules of Fight Club
1. You do not talk about ‘Fight Club’.
2. You do not talk about ‘Fight Club’.
3. When someone yells “Stop” or goes limp, or taps out, the fight is over.
4. Only two guys to a fight.
5. One fight at a time.
6. No shirts, no shoes.
7. Fights go on as long as they have to.
8. If this is your first night at ‘Fight Club’, you have to fight.
Needless to say, people asked what we were doing and sometimes watched, but we strictly observed these rules! ha ha
Low Level Skinning Event
The object of this contest is to be the first level one to level to five, train skinning, buy a skinning knife, and skin X amount of scraps. You need to host this event near a starting area so the training and knife buying won’t take long.
